What is a Stitch on TikTok?

The TikTok Stitch feature allows users to clip scenes from other TikTok users into their own content.

Users can turn the Stitch feature on or off.

Other users can integrate the TikTok video without permission when the feature is enabled.

However, other users can’t use the video for their Stitch creations if the feature isn’t enabled.

Why learning how to Stitch on TikTok is important

To generate leads and sales or establish your client’s authority using TikTok, you need your TikTok posts to generate lots of views and engagement.

Without both views and engagements, your posts are essentially ignored.

That’s why learning how to Stitch on TikTok is crucial—it helps you create captivating, entertaining, and engaging TikTok posts.

Here’s a closer look at some of the benefits of TikTok’s Stitch feature:

  • Encourage collaboration. Since you’re integrating other people’s videos, you’ll have a logical reason to reach out to them. Sure, you don’t need to ask permission if the original poster enabled the Stitch feature. However, since you’re looking to build relationships, there’s nothing stopping you from reaching out to ask permission anyway. It’s a great way to get a conversation. Depending on how you navigate the conversation, you can create strategic, mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Piggy-back on other user’s engaging, high-performing posts. There are several ways you can do this. First, choose a high-performing video, one with loads of engagements. Create a reaction post about the video using the Stitch feature. You can comment on TikTok quotes, oppose or build upon the points of the video, etc.
  • Cross-promotion. The original creator of the video has a good chance of sharing your post since you integrated their content. This gives your posts more eyeballs and engagement potential.

Unfortunately, TikTok doesn’t let you upload a video from your camera roll when you Stitch. You need to record a new video for Stitches.
