Creating Your Slack App

First, you’ll need to create a Slack app. Let’s go to api.slack.com/apps. When creating an app, choose the “from scratch” option and name it something descriptive like “Advocacy Program Notifications.” This step is a one-time setup.

Setting Up Incoming Web Hooks

Then, go to your Slack app’s basic information. Navigate to “Add features and functionality” and then “Incoming web hooks.” Turn the toggle to “On” to enable incoming web hooks. Then click “Add new web hook to workspace.” You can create one or multiple web hooks depending on how many Slack channels you want to use for notifications.
