What are Facebook AI stories?

Facebook AI stories, also known as ready-made stories, are pre-made suggestions for your story that use metadata from your photos.

If you’ve granted Facebook access to your camera roll, you’ll automatically have basic recommendations enabled.

Facebook AI stories may be based on:

  • when you took your photos or videos
  • where you took them
  • which photos or videos you’ve favorited

Plus, they also take into consideration the type of photo, such as panorama, time-lapse, front-facing, and more.

But that’s not all! There are also advanced Facebook AI stories that use machine learning to evaluate the content of your photos, resulting in higher-quality suggestions.

These advanced stories use the same metadata as basic ones but add more data, such as what’s in your photos (like food, animals, or the presence of people) and the image quality of your photos.

It’s important to note that AI stories process and store on your device, and Facebook doesn’t share the metadata and machine learning results about your photos until you select the story for upload.

Plus, you can toggle ready-made stories on and off and switch between basic and advanced modes at any time.
